Build Crofton High School Rally –
WHEN: Wednesday, May 21st, 6:30pm (organizing in the parking lot, the BOE meeting starts at 7pm)
WHERE: Board of Education, Administration Building, 2644 Riva Road, Annapolis, MD
WHAT: BCHS will testify before the Board of Education about the need for a high school in Crofton. We will be testifying during the “Public Participation” portion of the meeting (very early on in the meeting) and leaving after that portion of the meeting is finished.
WHY: There is a rapidly approaching capacity problem in our county’s high schools and the answer to that problem is a Crofton high school. We must show that Crofton is united and that it is not “just a couple of parents from Crofton”, but an entire community! We need them to stop splitting up our community!
HOW: Wear purple if you have it and stand up when the two spokespersons for BCHS testify (3 minutes each). We’ll also stand in support of any of our elected officials that show up to testify in support as well.
Students, parents, grandparents, and neighbors all standing together as one community united can’t be stopped! WE NEED YOUR HELP!

The following PTO members are running for a PTO Officer position in the upcoming election:
Hello, my name is Jessica Awad and I am running for the position of PTO President for the 2014-2015 & the 2015-2016 school years. For the last 2 years I have served as your PTO President. In those two years I have planned (a total of 5 because I have been the social committee chair since 2011) the Fall and Spring picnics, Career day (3), Movie nights (3), Spirit week (2) and more. I have been a member of each committee and have tried my best to help in all areas of the PTO. I really enjoy my position with the CMES PTO and would love to continue for another term, which would have to be my last. When the CMES PTA became a PTO I took over as president. To be honest I had NO IDEA what I was doing but I would like to think we have survived (haha). I have made it because of the amazing support I have and still do receive from the community, the staff and the wonderful board of directors CMES has been blessed with. I have given my all to make changes to the organization and after having the last two years under my belt, I feel the best is yet to come. I hope that even it they are small, you have noticed the changes that have been lucky enough to make it through. I have a lot of new and fun ideas for the students, staff and parents and I only hope that I will have another two years to make those ideas come to life, here at our wonderful school! Thank you for your time. I hope to see you all at elections on May 28th at 3pm!!
My name is Kathleen Parlett and I am running for CMES PTO Treasurer. My husband, Basil, and I have lived in Crofton Meadows since 1999. I am the mother of 6 children ages 17, 17, 17, 15, 13 and 8. We have been a CMES family since my triplets entered kindergarten in 2001. Since that time I have helped out in many ways: classroom volunteer, field trip chaperone, ticket store helper, Operation Read coordinator, and substitute teacher, etc. I have been a member of the PTA/PTO each year and have seen all the things that the PTO does for our school and for our children. I am just finishing my third year as treasurer and would like to continue to serve the PTO and school in this way.
